Among the movies we have made a new soundtrack to are: Un Chien Andalou, Sunrise, Maya Derens, Meshes in the afternoon and On Land, La Jetee, Call of Cthulhu as well as experimental video music all performed live.

La Jetee [2009]

The legendary film, La Jetee by Chris Mark from 1963 as been reedited with our compositional music and also a danish speak. Here is a teaser for the movie with our soundtrack.

Sunrise - 2005

Sunrise is a movie by Murnau from 1927 and is regarded as one of the most influential movies in history.

The following is a review of one of our shows. Norberg Festival 2005. It is written by Mattias Svensson of Fat Bankroll:
“Unexpectedly the highlight of the festival was when “Problèmes De Communication” played live to an old silent movie. An event which sounded so arty on paper that I nearly passed on it. It turned out to be an amazing concert which peaked in moments of krautrock-like jamming with guitar, bass, organ, flute and a laptop. The latter was scarcely used as part of the soundtrack, something that other laptoppers could learn from. During the concert, the organ was smashed to pieces with a sledgehammer, which was more punk and a better show than all the laptop artists at the festival were able to pull off, had they tried.”

Selectricity

Selectricity begain in the late 1990ties introducing electronica / IDM / Electro to the music scene, mostly as a club with live events. Selectricity also showed interest in the Theatre and Dance scene, producing music for several performances as well as producing three; Singularity, URO and Valgets Eksperiment.

URO [2004]

A performance concert about anxiety (Uro in danish) and human desolation made with Maria Ehmsen. Here we placed the musicians in the center of the huge mobile (also Uro in danish), having the visuals and the dancer around. We used a four channel system and people could be all around the circular scene.

Laws of Nature [2003]

A music video with images of two dancing figures, Lisbeth Sonne and Anette Asp Christensen.

SG17A

SG17A is the name of my more early experimental solo works dating back to around year 2002.

Scriptures [2004]

Scriptures is a contemporary dance by Lisbeth Sonne added music. It is Filmed at Mindeparken in Aarhus.

Fragmentet [2004]

A study in Anxiety.

Fragmentet was a pre-URO study and the 15 minutes piece is combined by 15 1 minute sequences, only abrupted by the voice of Peter Russell.

Modulated GrandPrix

ModGP is a discipline in electronic music and Selectricity have been arranging this event a few times since the first one in 2005. The event takes place during the live transmission of the European Song Contest. The rules are simple. You get a live signal and you have the 3 minutes the song plays to deliver a new signal. The audience can see the direct pictures but not the original soundscore. You are not allowed to use any internal sound generation, only the sound input, but you can apply as many effects as you want and sample and replay is also accepted. MGP has been set up by other groups and even seen in Oslo (but the original idea is from Selectricity, Aarhus).

The following video clip is Germany being manipulated live at the ModGP 2011 at Studenterhuset, Aarhus.

ModGP turned in 2013 was with the winning song from Denmark and the rules are presented in this video documentation as well.
